MBM recognized as a Top 30 enterprise in the 2020 National Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition

MBM’s “Artificial Intelligence Digital Pathology Analysis System for Tumor diagnostic” was unveiled in the finals of the Ninth China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (CIEC) 2020 in Hangzhou on November 4-6.

The CIEC competition is regarded as the most prestigious and influential entrepreneurial competition in China, with the largest number of participating companies, attracting 35,788 companies this year.

This year’s competition introduced seven strategic emerging industries including biotechnology and new generation information technology. The 34 companies that advanced to the national finals are outstanding Chinese companies from different industry groups, different size (startup and medium-sized enterprises), and selected through provincial competitions. Among the 34 companies, there were only two biotechnology companies, and MBM, as the only medical diagnostic company, was shortlisted for the national finals of the start-up group.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Jia Jingdun, director of the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that the CIEC has created a way to effectively promote technological innovation and entrepreneurship under the guidance of the government, and encourages emerging companies to focus on national strategies, industrialization development, frontier technologies and healthcare.

MBM’s entry was based on our integrated AI digital pathology platform comprising an AI-compatible digital pathology scanner, AI image analysis software, supporting test kits and clinical pathology services lab. Mr. Zhu Weiyan, the founder and CEO of MBM, personally participated in the project presentation. In the end, MBM was ranked ninth in the cross-industry finals and won the “China Top 30 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate”.

The MBMbio-intelligence digital pathology scanner also attracted special attention from media outlets such as Hangzhou TV Station and Zhejiang Jingshi TV station.
